New Year's Greetings from the Diocesan Bishop

New Year is supposed to be one of the happiest days of the year. It is most of the time celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm because it signifies hope for a new life. The beginning of the year is always synonymous with renewed energy and optimism for it opens for us new opportunities and gives us that chance to start again.

Looking back, 2020 undeniably had been a very traumatic year for many reasons: the natural calamities brought forth by the Taal volcano eruption, the series of typhoons and earthquakes, the African Swine Fever, and of course the Pandemic crisis that we are all experiencing due to Covid 19. We live in a world with so much confusion, despair and depression. As we start our journey, we need to understand that 2021 may not be different. It certainly will be a very challenging year for us, for our church, for our country, and for the whole world. But may we always remember and may we never forget that it is truly to this dark world and unfortunate events in our lives, that our Lord Jesus Christ comes, to give us hope! The best way to handle discouraging times like the one we’re having is to live faithfully and to trust God fully. For whatever it is that happened, for whatever it is that’s happening, and for whatever it is that’s going to happen, let us TRUST GOD. Making a wish for the New Year, is the same as having hope. To live our lives, we need hope. So let us continue hoping, for there is absolutely nothing impossible with God. God will always be true to His promise. The Lord will always be true to His words.

I wish you a Blessed 2021
and pray that God will always be
our Hope and Salvation.

His Grace

The Rt. Rev. Vicente Salvador R. Ballesteros
Diocesan Bishop
